The Newsmaker team’s been working with leading providers of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, across a wide range of evolving industries and topics, including Autonomous Driving (AD), Smart Homes, Smart Cities and Industrial Automation.
This work includes a PR campaign for a global semiconductor company focused on generating publicity to promote the company’s innovations and thought leadership in emerging technologies such as:
- Artificial Intelligence
- Edge Computing
- Ultra Wide Band
- 5G and Smart Cities
At tradeshows, such as Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and Mobile World Congress (MWC), we provide PR in support of the semiconductor company’s exhibits and speaker appearances. This includes publicizing new products and arranging briefings and interviews for executives with attending press.
The longer-term goal of the initiative is to generate mainstream media coverage for the company which is no easy feat since a Tier Two semiconductor company has limited relevance to the general consumer and business audiences of these media. We have embarked upon a three-pronged strategy:
- Increase name recognition and awareness of the company’s leadership through high-profile placements about the company’s products and innovations in industry publications. Trade and vertical industry press are often read by “beat” reporters of general technology and business media and thereby can influence what these outlets cover. Further, repurposing industry media coverage via social media posts and Google searches also influences mainstream journalists.
- Placing contributed content ghost written for company executives’ bylines in industry and business media, as well as on LinkedIn and Medium.
- Conducting a robust, weekly media outreach effort to build relationships for our client with general media such as Axios, CNET, Mashable, TechCrunch and Wired. The frequency and creativity of this outreach generates meetings for executives with influential media, thereby establishing them as expert resources.
For another top Autonomous Driving technology company we promoted an exhibit at CES focused on HMI (Human Machine Interaction). The exhibit was covered by a couple dozen media including Automotive News, Axios, Mashable and the New York Times.
Our work for these clients keeps the Newsmaker team immersed in PR strategies pegged to fast evolving next-gen technologies and the media that cover them. It’s exciting work and we love it!
