Myxer

Myxer created technology, products and services that simplify the delivery of user-generated content to mobile devices. Newsmaker Group handled the strategic positioning and integrated marketing communication plan for Myxer’s launch, focusing on promoting the company’s technology to consumers looking to deliver user-generated content (music, pictures, etc.) to mobile devices. Communications targets included musicians, brands and other rights holders interested in quickly and easily selling and sharing their unique content as ringtones or wallpaper images directly from their own websites or social media pages.

Newsmaker Group’s media specialists pitched stories and product developments to a wide range of media. We generated placements for Myxer in “vertical” advertising industry trade media (e.g., Advertising Age), mobile/technology industry media (e.g., e-Commerce News, TechNewsWorld and Wired Blog), entertainment media (e.g., Billboard, Digital Music News, Aquarian, CMJ News and FutureMusic Blog), as well as general press (e.g., CW’s “Kurt the Cyberguy”, Los Angeles Daily News, Miami Herald, Newsday, and South Florida Sun Sentinel). We also arranged for Myxer executives to speak at key industry events, including SXSW.

We worked with Myxer for more than a year after which the company took the PR function in-house. During our relationship Myxer acquired the hardest users for any Internet start-up – its first million – and became a “go-to” resource for thought leadership/expert interviews with digital media journalists.
